Memorial to honor 50,000 bumble bees that died in Oregon parking lot.
Rozzell Medina, of Portland, said on a Facebook page that the event will "memorialize these fallen lifeforms and talk about the plight of the bees and their importance to life on Earth," The Oregonian reported.

Sigh....

Have they converted you and have you hugging trees yet? Seattle is not as bad, but still gets a lot of those that don't stop in Oregon on their trek from California.DoubleJ wrote:I can only stand and shake my head...

Anyone want to take a stab at writing a eulogy for a “Memorial to honor 50,000 bumble bees that died in an Oregon parking lot.”? My side hurts from laughing.
God Bless America, and please hurry.

duuuuuuuuuuuude, maaaaaaan. I'll go on a hike, but I'm hard pressed to hug a tree on my way. They're too big! Ha!Keith B wrote:Have they converted you and have you hugging trees yet? You'd be surprised. I think Seattle is just as bad as Portland in many respects. It's like they're on a mission to see who's crazier and more liberal-er. The scenery up here is nice, though.
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

[in best preacher voice] Friends and neighbors, we are gathered here today to pay tribute to the 50,000 humble bumble bees that have swarmed up to the Great Bee Hive in the Sky.VoiceofReason wrote:Anyone want to take a stab at writing a eulogy for a “Memorial to honor 50,000 bumble bees that died in an Oregon parking lot.”? Maybe most tragic is the loss of Ms. Queen Bee. She would have been mourned by her 49,999 wonderful children, but they too perished in this unfortunate tragedy. Authorities have not released the names of all the deceased yet, but it is rumored that the Honey-Nut Cheerio Bee, Bumble Bee Man from the Simpsons, and three of the original members of the Bee Gee’s have been lost to us as well. To the dismay of many non-Asian kids across this wide world, the Spelling Bee is alive and well.
Tragically, these fine bees were struck down in the prime of their lives by the Devil’s drink – a pesticide. Now we all know bees are not pests unless they are in our attics; so how did a hive of hive of simple “parking lot bumble bees” come to such an untimely end? How could a hive, often described as “the bees knees”, perish in such an undignified manner? I will tell you, friends, it was Monsanto and their evil corporate practices that caused this. You heard me correctly, the evil corporation responsible for increasing crop yields and feeding the world, the evil corporation that donated a millions of tons of seed to the Haitians (who burned that evil seed in a Godly voodoo ritual), the evil corporation that is responsible for keeping pests from destroying your vegetable garden, is wholy responsible for these holy bees meeting their untimely demise.
If you remember nothing else from this memorial, just remember the bee’s lasts words, “this is tasty nectar – I feel funny” and know you have the task from here out, a duty to these very bees, a responsibility to post every negative article about Monsanto you find on the internet to your Twitter feeds and Facebook accounts. If someone reads it on the internet, it has to be true.
Bonjour – er, I mean, Amen.

This is something but if you have never seen it the video of "Hippies - Crying Over Dead Trees" is the most bizarre thing yet. Bar none!

Did you watch it to the end? After they roll the "credits", they have out-takes of all of them cracking up over their own antics.dubya wrote:This is something but if you have never seen it the video of "Hippies - Crying Over Dead Trees" is the most bizarre thing yet. Bar none!
