I got 10 1 ounce bars today for a total cost with shipping and everything $171, this was paying with credit card

That's a very good price - I got a 10 oz bar for $169.17 (bulk is a tiny bit cheaper).

That's the spot-price, Roy, so I doubt you would find retail physical silver at that price - $18.33 or so is the cheapest 1oz round I can find right now (or $17.60 if paying by check).
