Was awakened this morning just after 7 by the window shades rattling in the bedroom windows.
Sounded like a herd of cats chasing mice up the glass.
5.6 magnitude quake centered near Pawnee, OK.

Anyone else notice it?

On the plus side, the kids are knackered from week 2 of school so t's quiet and I have the coffee pot all to myself

I'm shocked that I didn't feel it, I'm about 30 miles away from OK. Must have been sleeping hard this morning.

Wife and I were staying at Winstar, 16th floor, until about three hours ago. Entire room shook and curtains swayed , lasted about 15 seconds, I jumped up and yelled "earthquake" Wife and I packed up clothes ( checking out today anyway) and left, back home about 8:30 am. Very scary, worried about aftershocks and did not know its origin until later. Been in 2 quakes in CA. years ago, but not as strong as this one today. Some neighbors in my area felt it.

I slept right through it.

"A record-tying earthquake in the edge of Oklahoma's key energy-producing areas rattled the Midwest from Nebraska to North Texas on Saturday and likely will focus fresh new attention to the practice of disposing oil and gas field wastewater deep underground.

The United States Geological Survey said a 5.6 magnitude earthquake happened at 7:02 a.m. Saturday in north-central Oklahoma, on the fringe of an area where regulators had stepped in to limit wastewater disposal. That temblor matches a November 2011 quake in the same region.

People in Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri; Fayetteville and Little Rock, Arkansas; Des Moines, Iowa; and Norman, Oklahoma, all reported feeling the earthquake. Dallas TV station WFAA tweeted that the quake shook their studios, too."

I heard my herd of cats chasing mice up the glass, but they do that every morning. I don't think it was the earthquake. I'm a long way from Oklahoma.

I've felt some of the 2-3point quakes in Irving but didn't feel a thing this morning
I did find an interesting note today that said central region quakes are felt at much further distances due to the composition of the plates and earth . This one was reported to be felt across numerous states

I heard that OK is stopping drilling companies from _______. They claim it is the cause of all the recent seismic activity.
