Hollywood releases another movie featuring AR-15's

Annihilation starring Natalie Portman is opening in theaters tomorrow, with lots of scenes featuring AR-15's being used.
If the AR-15 is such a horrible thing, why does Hollywood continue to feature it in film and television?

Because it sells. "Give the people what they want." (Unless it's the firearms industry giving people what they want. Then it must be tightly controlled and loudly condemned.)

As I've told my family, the NRA promotes responsible gun ownership and Hollywood promotes gun violence.

Go to the local movie theater. How many movie posters feature a gun? Of those that don't, how many are romantic comedies or children's movies?
Mass media in the US is often a manual on the dangerous misuse of firearms.

If they are supposed to be camo'd or "grey" why do they have bright orange sleeping pad covers?

Well, I watched a trailer. They were shown firing these rifles twice. Both times it was fully automatic fire. The characters were military affiliated in some way, so either they were legitimately given assault rifles in the movie, or it's another Hollywood attempt to convince people that AR platform rifles and assault rifles are the same thing. Certainly wouldn't be the first time.

It's sad. The Hollywood liberal elites, spewing all this, "we need gun control" when they are the ones perpetuating gun violence (and violence in general). And then they blame us and the NRA for all this violence going on. And then one of my "favorite" arguments of theirs, "Look at gun control in the UK. It works!" Well, look at the entertainment industry in the UK. How many of those TV shows and movies perpetuate violence? Surprisingly, it's very low. It's a different culture with different people. Gun control had nothing to do with it. It just happens to correlate.
