That’s right.... that’s how it is spelled. Mathmaticians will know of whom I speak..... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Edwin_Luecke

So I’m spending some time scouting out properties for sale in Texas this afternoon, using the Realtor.com app on my tablet. I’m looking at one that’s SE of Bastrop near TX 71 on the satellite map, and as I pan to the east of it, I see this:

That’s right....someone has cleared almost all the trees off of this piece of land, leaving behind enough trees to spell out the word “LUECKE”, which out to be visible from at least 30,000 feet. Now I have no idea if this is one and the same person as the Luecke who is currently a math professor at UT in Austin, but whomever it is, he/she has either a whimsical sense of humor, or a titanic ego ......or both.

Gotta love Texas and Texans.

(BTW, the little red “pin” near the lower left of the image is the property I was checking out.)

A little history I didn't know in the article above. Some interesting claims if true!

Thanks for the backstory, Papa_Tiger. I simply assumed that it would have originated with a famous mathmaticiian in Austin, but the true story is just as good.
