In an article published Tuesday, Texas governor Greg Abbott reacted to his state taking first place in CNBC’s America’s Top States for Business scorecard.

“To keep Texas the best state to build a business big or small, I will continue to implement a blueprint for a new era of economic expansion,” the governor said.

“Innovation and self-reliance are deeply rooted in the Lone Star State, and when freed from the stranglehold of over taxation and overregulation, new ideas flourish. By limiting senseless government restrictions, the opportunity to succeed in business is as limitless as the land itself.”
Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence. - John Adams

I'm kinda torn.

Yay for Texas being the model for America :patriot: :txflag:

But that is a reason why people from the left coast are migrating here like locusts. Granted we do get the occasional refugee, but for the most part, they'll band together to dismantle the foundation of what makes Texas great to begin with.

They can't ruin all of it. We do have a constitution that requires balanced budget and second amendment rights.... But I really don't want to see them try. :grumble

Being a refugee myself, I moved here for a job, but I am also kinda torn.
I just don't want to see them kill the goose that laid the golden eggs. :txflag:

Unfortunately, like the scorpion and the frog, it's in their nature for socialists.
God, grant me serenity to accept the things I can't change
Courage to change the things I can
And the firepower to make a difference.
