Hong Kong vs China protests turn violent in Melbourne.

Until 1973 Australia had racial restrictions on immigration, limiting Asians from immigrating.

Now it has other non racial criteria.

Hmmm. Apparently Australia is waking up to the fact that this recent cozy trading relationship with China has some risks.

Australia has 25 million people and is the size of the US. China has 1.4 billion people and is 4500 miles away.

Oh and the Australian population has no guns.

If you wait until you need a gun to get a gun you waited way too long!

Man successfully rescues whale from fishing nets after authorities fail to respond in a timely manner.

Fined by authorities when they arrived.

Not sure if it was going to close to a whale or interfering with government property.

He cut a shark net.

He will not be fined. $16,000 raised to pay his fine will be donated to whale research.

Australian PM apologizes for saying there had never been slavery in Australia.

Apparently Pacific Islanders were enslaved by Australians to cut sugar cane in Northern Australia for 100 years.

Apparently 27% of Australian prisons are filled with Aboriginals who make up just 2% of the population. In the past Aboriginal babies were forcibly taken from their mothers to be raised in Caucasian families to try and break their Aboriginal culture.

Leopold mountain range being renamed. King Leopold 2 of Belgium was a bad dude.

Man taunts and videos a dying policewoman as she lays underneath a truck that had struck her. She was giving him a ticket for speeding in his Porsche when the truck veered from its lane and struck her.

Life in prison would not be enough for him.

I am glad I live in the US and we do not have such a criminal charge as outraging public decency, especially with no maximum sentence for it. But, it is apparent that there are certainly people where it is particularly appropriate charge. And for some, life is not too long a sentence.

Sentenced to 10 months in prison.

“Most hated man in Australia”

Weird law. I suspect it would fall under 1st Amendment here.

Information control to achieve mind control. What was once covert is now overt. I don't agree with all of it, but Prof. Nissani pieces a lot together here:
