Police officer who was put in a headlock by a person he and another officer were trying to arrest that was captured on video, has not been charged by the District Attorney.
I think isn't New York where the City has placed a limit on officers retiring.

When I heard about this my first thought was THIS IS WHY I HAVE A BOOT KNIFE! When i'm working Security if by whatever turn of events they can get me down or in a headlock and I can't reach my or draw my pistol, the razor sharp boot knife is my next option!

It should be duly noted that the anti-crime units that are being asked to come back are basically plain-clothed officers roaming the streets armed with a concealed handgun. Criminals' fear of police retribution apparently come from not knowing who on the streets are armed or not. Considering NYC only has 0.05% of its citizens with an issued CCW, it is pretty safe to say that at this point, the only people armed would be uniformed officers and violent criminals. You know, the same violent criminals doing the killing.
Now think about this. Let's say CCWs are shall-issue instead of may-issue in NYC. This would presumably increase the number of plain-clothed people roaming the streets armed with a concealed handgun. Do you think the violent crime rate would go up or down?

They should tell them that the budget was cut and their neighborhood was on the mayor's list not needing patrols or rapid response... and to call the mayor's office to complain.
