Thanksgiving

#1

Post by bblhd672 »

Yeah, I know, still couple of days away. However, I'm taking off for the hills of southwest Texas in few hours to spend a long holiday weekend with wife, daughter and son in law on the Frio River. Internet and cell coverage spotty where we're going, so I wanted to post before we head out.

Although our liberties, freedoms and our Constitutional Republic are under attack and in danger by the actions/policies/agenda of progressive socialists, I have many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
Faith, family, friends, health, job among many other things I'm thankful for being blessed by my Creator.
I'm thankful for my lovely wife, she is truly the love of my life and every minute with her is precious. My children are healthy and doing well. My grandson fills my heart with joy and laughter.
Above all, I am thankful that I know Jesus Christ as my Savior. And this world is not my eternal home.

To all of you on TxCHL forum, I wish you a happy, blessed and safe Thanksgiving!
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

Amen.

I too, have much to be thankful for, family, friends, health, a good job, a roof over my head, food, in my belly, and clothes on my back. I am grateful to live in a country, where, I am free to express my opinions, worship, the God of my choice, and travel freely.

Prayers for safe travels for all who will be traveling.

Same to you. I’m going to be in the same boat. We’re leaving for Tenkiller Lake in Oklahoma for the holiday. We’ve rented a small cabin up there, and my son, DIL and kids are staying in a nearby large home overlooking the lake with his inlaws. We’re going to be about 25 or 30 of us, all together. There’s no internet access at either the cabin or the big house, and apparently cellular is spotty up there.

Anyway, I wish all of you the very best Thanksgiving holiday. Be safe. Cherish the time spent with your loved ones. I am thankful for all of God’s manifold blessings in my life. I pray the same for all of you.

Well said.

Despite the trials of the world, many of us have a great deal to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving!

My post will be a little different.

Before I move on let me say that I appreciate this forum and the many viewpoints it brings forth in furtherance of our understanding of Texas firearm laws and associated endeavors. I also give thanks to and for my wife for her patience with me while she, as an agnostic and former doctor, did not understand what was happening with me. Still my number one thanksgiving is for my Heavenly Father giving me life after death in 2005 when I passed after a widowmaker heart attack with cardiac arrest, for walking with me through the shadow of the valley of death from 2008 until December 2015 when my cardiologist and nephrologist asked how my heart failure and kidney disease had suddenly gone away, and finally for the last three years of undermining my understanding of the word "impossible," but in a nice way.

I wish all here a day of peace and understanding tomorrow, and may it truly be a day of rest as well as "Thanksgiving."
