The Dems have been busy for their first few days.

Any guess on number of days till new gun control legislation is introduced.

I’ll say 90 days.

I’d say less than 90 days. In the meantime, I saw this awesome tweet today....
Democratic Leadership: Let's lay out a careful strategy to confront the Bad Orange Man.

The new gun bill will require background checks on all gun sales, except for loaning a rifle for hunting purposes or transactions between family members.

It is being introduced on the anniversary of the shooting of Representative Gabby Giffords, who did not provide any armed security at her political event in Arizona.

She was also shot with a gun that was legally purchased by an insane 21 year old man who passed the required FBI background check to purchase the gun.

6 people died at her political event.

The shooter was knocked down and captured by many brave people at the event, including a wounded 74 year old and a CHL who was armed but did not draw his weapon as the shooting had stopped by the time he intervened.

The shooter was sentenced to life in prison where he is now.

He should have been sentenced to hanging rather than free room, board and medical at your and my and our children's expense. :mad5

A nation concealed carry reciprocity bill was introduced on the 3rd of January. I suspect it has no chance of passing.

If I remember correctly, the House passed it when it was under Republican control. But the Republican majority Senate never even voted on it. Some ask why Senate Republican Mitch McConnell never brought it to a vote. I guess we’ll never know, but it’s a shame National Reciprocity and the Hearing Protection Acts were never passed when both houses of Congress had a Republican majority.

When dems control the Senate, they need 51 votes to pass new controls on the subjects. When Republicans are in control, they need 60 votes.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

The partial government shutdown rippled through the U.S. transportation system Monday as staffing issues closed a security checkpoint at Houston’s largest airport and the world’s biggest hub in Atlanta suffered unusually long lines.

The issues at several airports stem largely from a shortage of Transportation Security Administration staff, who have been calling in to say they wouldn’t be showing up for work in recent weeks and whose absences accelerated over the weekend.
I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.

A private sale is private, isn't it?
