The issues with the Mekong were brought up on the last episode of The Grand Tour (the former Top Gear host's new show). Interesting to see it from the surface.

It looks like the USA is finally starting to realize the threat that China is.. the question is whether we have the fortitude to do anything about it. I get the feeling they're about to try something in SCS while they have a chance. Duterte ending the Philippines VFA isn't going to help our position in the area especially with them starting to lean toward China.

ETA: They're trying to take advantage of a lot of western Asia and African as well, and I'm wondering if they're overextending themselves a bit. If their plans work out though they're going to have major footholds across the eastern hemisphere.

China is a clear and present danger to the free world. 30 years ago the conflict (war) novelists were setting a future conflict between the free world and the ChiCom in their fiction. It might not be fiction.

They need to look closer at what is going on with the USS Carl Vinson. It looks like a lot of incompetance going on.

China has developed the ability of one satellite to "tow" another.

One of my speculations for years has been future military capability of taking out foreign satellites. I know there are multiple ways to do this but this is one.
