The Russian maker of the AK-47 unveiled a new rifle on Monday called the AK-308, which it is expected to demonstrate at the Army-2018 Forum on Tuesday.

"The weapon is based on the AK103 submachine gun for the cartridge 7.62x51 mm with elements and components of the AK-12 automatic machine," Kalashnikov Concern said in a press statement on Monday.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

How does that work? The dedicated 7.62x39 ARs I’ve seen all had a different magazine well from a standard 5.56 weapon’s magwell.

Not sure yet.. Doesn't arrive until Wednesday. Bear Creek Arms is where I got it. Good reviews on their site and others as well as Youtube videos. Like you said, it does used a dedicated AR-15 style mag but chambered in the 7.62 caliber.. No alterations required....

I figure I have to shoot around 2750 rounds of steel case 7.62 to make up the price different from .223 (brass)... That's because my local gun range will only allow steel in 7.62, plus my boys both have AK47's, so we can all buy in larger. bulk quantities and split shipping costs, etc...
