Colleges are places to learn, not die at the hands of attention-starved mass-murderers.

Student robbed at gunpoint on college campus

SAN ANTONIO – As students rush to class, you can spot police patrolling the parking lots at Northeast Lakeview College.
Students say it’s a strong presence after reports of a man with a gun on campus.
Police say a female student reported the robbery Tuesday morning.
The woman told police the gunman approached her in the parking lot near the Learning Resource Center just before noon. Now others who park in that area are worried.
“I have night classes, and so it scares me,” said concerned student Karlyn Harper. “I get out when the sun is down, and I park in the back because it’s easy parking.”
Investigators say the mysterious gunman took all of the victim’s personal property and got away. Now many students are watching their backs.
“I get out late,” said Tristan Rosemond. “I want to know that I’m safe walking out to my car at night.”
Alamo Community College District Police sent out campus crime alerts to warn students and staff about the armed robbery.

Police are encouraging everyone to take extra steps for their own safety.
Officers suggest students be aware of their surroundings, use the “buddy” system when walking across campus, and take advantage of safety escorts.ACCD Police have not released a description of the armed robber. Investigators are asking anyone with information about this crime to call (210) 485-0099.

AUSTIN- ACC Police Department (ACC PD) arrested two men Wednesday morning (9/30/2009) in connection with an armed robbery that took place earlier on Eastview Campus.

According to reports, a student sitting in her car in the parking lot adjacent to the Childcare Development Center (Building 5000) at 8:45 a.m. was approached by a man who opened her door, displayed a gun, and demanded money. The man took $10 and a cell phone and left in a car with two other men.

ACC officers later observed two men fitting the student’s descriptions in the neighborhood near Eastview. Police arrested the men. The identity of the third man, the gunman, is still under investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to call ACC PD at 223.7999.

ACC PD would like to remind students, faculty, and staff to observe these general safety precautions:

If you see something, say something – Remain alert for any suspicious persons or activity, and report all concerns to ACC Police at 223.7999.
If you sense something is wrong, leave the area immediately.
Have your keys ready when you approach your vehicle.
Avoid walking alone on campus. For an escort, contact ACC Police at 223.7999. The first available officer will be sent to your location.
Lock your car doors – and not just when you leave your vehicle. Keep doors locked even if you are sitting inside the car.

This is obviously an eample of the main stream media poor skills at reporting any activity involving firearms. There must be some mistake as these events cannot have happened as stated because these are both guns free zones. How can students have been robbed at gunpoint in locations where there are no guns.

Could the students just be clamoring for attention? Could they have lied.

Something is highly suspicious.

Perhaps the robbers were nearsighted and the signs too small?
Bigger, bolder “Gun-Free Zone” signs would be harder to ignore

The concept of Gun-Free Zones is a noble one, and with a little revamping it can be far more effective. 33 out of the 34 people that died in Virginia Tech’s Gun Free Zone were actually following the rules. That's not a bad percentage about only about 8% not following the rules?.... better than the 12.7% unemployment rate we had, so it's acceptable I suppose ... There’s no reason to believe that expanding the program nationally won’t provide the same results.

Else, free eye exams and eyeglasses for robbers so they know not to bring guns.... Obama might go for that idea?

Gotta admit, the signs in English work better than the ones in Russian or Canadian:

Ultimately, at least 334 hostages were killed, including 186 children; hundreds more were injured and many were reported missing.
