Some years ago, I friend of mine noticed that a lot of commission appointments had gone unfilled, so he called the Governor's office to volunteer. He was told that he hadn't made a sufficient donation the the gov's campaign to qualify. I don't know which gov it was.

Texas has a Holocaust and Genocide Commission? I'm scared to ask what they do.

Something tells me your friends is telling a VERY tall tale! Even if it were true, no one on the phone would ever admit it.

IIRC, he said it was implied - bit I suspect you are correct.
