Fauci says gun violence is a public health issue

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

You realize Fauci was not the first to say this. This has been going on for awhile.

I'm posting this one so I can read it in depth when I can devote time and thought into it.

I was thinking about this last night and now can see the parallels between Fauci and at least the Covid 19 pandemic.

1. Before it really began in earnest, the pandemic was turned into a political football and a weapon against the political enemies of group to which Fauci belongs. They deliberately said the opposite of whatever President Said. Talk about guns has always been the same
2. There was and is still no attempt to get to the causal roots of the pandemic. Where did it come from? How was it spread? Instead, a bunch of rules were concocted and all of the available evidence ignored.
3. There is no analysis of why some people are more vulnerable to the worst symptoms or to what prophylactic measures can be taken to help deal with those situations. With guns, the flaws in the NICS system and the lack of prosecution of straw purchasers are also ignored.
3. The rules were applied to the "little people" while all of the Elites who made them not only ignored them but did so with excuses if they were caught. Mayor Lightfoot's having to get her hair done because she was on camera was among the most laughable.
4 Passes were given for rioters and looters to ignore the restrictions while business owners were shut down and jailed for less. Criminals with histories of gun law violations are released on subsequent arrests with no bail. I had to shake my head at the Kenosa bar shooter having had previous gun law violations while the Liberal pols rail about gun show loopholes.
5 Now, the politicians want to and are making permanent the emergency restrictions that were supposed to be used to help control the worst of the spread without any evidence that they are doing any good. Assault rifle ban, anyone?

So, yes. Gun violence is a public health crises. Not because of the danger to public health but in how the political establishment treats it.

Fauci's federal agency experimented with grafting aborted fetal scalps on to mice to see what would happen.

The things that he says in public are often internally inconsistent and at odds with publicly available information. When confronted with uncertainty, he chooses the most conservative position with respect to those risks that he oversees. It is the classic behavior of an academic internal medicine subspecialist: force others manage risk for you by remaining deliberately oblivious to the remainder of the situation.

I once had to referee a disagreement between a neurosurgeon and an ID doc. The ID doc was demanding that infected hardware in the patient's neck be removed. The neurosurgeon replied: " I get that it's infected and I will remove it, but if I take it out right now the man's head will fall off. You have to speak sense to him." Fauci sees an infectious viral threat and is demanding lockdowns. There has to be an adult in the room saying "That's important advice about the aspect that you understand, but we must look at the whole picture or we'll maim and kill more people than the virus would've." The garbage about masks for people with antibodies from the vaccine or prior infection is the latest example of his insanity: he doesn't have complete data yet on whether the vaccine stops transmission, but history gives us an extremely strong indication that it does. So Fauci's brilliant solution is to remove all of the incentive that people under age 45 have for getting the vaccine and then wonder why people don't want it.

The man cannot deal with uncertainty, which means that apart from spitting out facts, he's useless.

Remember when Harvey Weinstein was no longer able to hide his decades of sexual abuse and harassment of women?
How when he was caught and even his friends turned on him that he then attacked the NRA?
He even said “I hope Wayne LaPierre will enjoy his retirement party.”

It seems Harvey isn't the only scoundrel who is trying to distract the American people by pointing at guns.
We now know that Fauci was responsible for funding the research into "Gain of Function" of bat viruses at a lab in Wuhan, China.
Research he was specifically told to drop.
Wuhan, China was ground zero for the Covid virus and it is suspected to have originated in bats.

The guilty always try to distract the media by blaming guns.
Sadly, it often works.
