He might be a genius in the lab, but probably isn't smart enough to pour urine out of a boot outside the lab!

He realizes that the Covid panic is coming to an end and wants to stay relevant.
In the Biden / Harris admin, the best way to keep the spotlight on yourself is to be anti-gun.

And I don't think the "Doctor" has seen the inside of a lab in decades.
He's a bureaucrat - nothing more.

I need a like button! I don't think he is any more of a genius than any other scientist in his profession. Maybe not as intelligent as most. He was the beneficiary of being well connected to the political class. The man is a complete fraud.

If you think about it, he's not wrong. Fortunately, there is a vaccine!

Don't be a criminal! Do that, and your chances of succumbing from lead poisoning go WAY down.

For some, we quarantine them (prison/jail).

In fairness, President Trump inherited Fauci as he did many of the other Washington bureaucrats. It appears that Fauci had been as ineffective at dealing with previous health problems as he has been over this one but the D.C. cesspool has never been good about elevating people to positions of power and authority because of their skills and results. This pandemic was on Trump before he could search for an alternative to Fauci. I"m guessing that jettisoning the good doctor would have generated even more of a firestorm over Trump's handling of the matter though in retrospect, it is hard to imagine how Trump should have felt that way.

The logical fallacy is that Fauci or anyone else in that role could have guided the whole country through the Covid mess. One size NEVER fits all one looking at the diversity between NY and SD, for example. Just about everything except the rapid development of vaccines done at that Federal level was wrong and i doubt any single person could have made that different from a medical perspective. We have to take our eyes of Washington and the Faucis.

Turning daily life in the US over to epidemiologists -- with Dr. Fauci front and center -- has cost the current and future citizens of this countly $Trillions, and the profilgate spending is a threat that may help lead to the end of this nation. THIS was the worst decision Trump and everyone else made over a year ago -- believing the fearmongers and adopting the suggestions of this same group of folks whose expertise is in exactly one area. Life is much more than a communicable virus. The debate of self-defense and the ownership and use of firearms is far simpler, and folks whose expertise is microbes and viruses, due to what their input has done for folks, should not be listened to at all in these debates.
