I think that's a little extreme, but I understand your argument a little better after looking at the wiki for Mr Garza

He was previously the executive director of the Workers Defense Project... Garza ran on a platform of ending prosecutions for low-level drug possession, holding police officers accountable for misconduct, and pursuing restorative justice.... He is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.
