For tax purposes, In Texas, CC charges for such purchases are referred to as Sporting Goods.

You are correct sir. Bass Pro for example would be considered a “sporting goods store” however the credit card company would have no idea if you purchased $700.00 worth of fish bait or a gun, only that you shopped there. This is nothing but feel good legislation that does exactly nothing except make the anti gun politicians look like they’re doing something.

Until they have itemized tracking of purchases, (they already have), shared and tracked, then 4th Amendment has been violated.

I dumped Discover Card decades back because of their interest rates....

Another reason not to carry Discover.
