Bloomberg Terrified At The Prospect Of America Exporting Its Gun Culture
In a recent series of articles, Bloomberg journalists detail how firearms companies are "fueling violence across the world" through sales to other countries. While the articles certainly attempt to frame gun ownership in other countries as the cause of violence, two key points are left out.
a question that must be posed in the face of this reporting is why Bloomberg fears an American-style gun culture in other countries.

An American style of gun ownership allows citizens to defend themselves without reliance on government entities like the police or military. It will enable citizens to be truly independent. For a billionaire like Michael Bloomberg, who can afford private security 24/7, this can be hard to understand. Still, for someone living in a Brazilian favela or a cartel-controlled territory in Mexico, firearm ownership could be the determining factor between life and death.

I think we can all agree that the recent attack on Israel would have ended quite differently if they had an American-Style gun culture.
Let us hope they have gotten the message and will make the change.

Absolutely! But I suspect that the people will have to demand it.

It would have changed considerably the tactics available to Hamas, or shut down the whole notion of the operation. The bulk of the attack was predicated on small cells of terrorists going house to house and killing unarmed civilians. If the Kibbutzes had had a Texas Style gun culture, windows would have bristled with rifle muzzles.

I tried to find the article where at least one kibbutz had voted itself a gun free zone within the last few years abut the searches now are filled with more recent events.

I did find this article by Emily Miller, the writer in D.C. who documented her quest to get a gun in D.C. after the "may carry" laws were overturned. She says what you said.

Apparently Bloomberg was paving the way for this:

White House Freezes Gun Exports In New Attack On US Gun Manufacturers

Guess that like HAMAS Bloomberg also wants Israeli civilians unarmed?

Is it just me, or do things just keep getting crazier and crazier? It must just be me.
In an announcement seemingly timed to minimize publicity, the US Commerce Department late Friday declared a 90-day freeze in the approval of exports for most American-made firearms, along with a review of the department's support of the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade -- or "SHOT" -- Show.

“The review will be conducted with urgency and will enable the Department to more effectively assess and mitigate risk of firearms being diverted to entities or activities that promote regional instability, violate human rights or fuel criminal activities,” the department said.

Before continuing, let's pause to marvel at the soaring hypocrisy of the US government -- which has armed murderous autocrats, Islamic extremists and Mexican drug cartels -- expressing concern about American weapons being used to "promote regional instability, violate human rights or fuel criminal activities."
