Just heard about the "cloture" vote...

61-36 in favor of the "Porkulus Bill"...

4 Republicans Snowe, Spector, Collins and one other whom I can't recall this second just put Capitalism on the back burner to socialism...

It just makes me wonder what a persons soul is worth today.

I know they are all politicians but I have to believe even they have souls.

You know, this is one of these times that I have to trust in Gd to know what's best for all of us. I'm not an economist, but the idea of this much spending scares me. I've heard both arguments, and I honestly don't know which to believe at this point. To put it bluntly, I'm just scared.

I'm not one to normally just let go on things like this, but I can only hope that President Obama listened to plenty of smart folks to figure out what to do, and most importantly, I hope he listened to The Most Important Person if you know what I mean.

All Obama is going to be good for is to simulate economic recovery. It will take a Republican landslide in 2012 to turn this car around. By then, the suckers of the last election will be more than ready to cash out on Obama.

I read an article on Townhall.com a little earlier. It said if you were to start spending the day Jesus was born and spend a million dollars every single day, you still wouldn't have spent a trillion dollars.

Sobering thought. Our politicians are insane or stupid.

And it looks like we get socialized medicine out of this stimulus package:

The only thing that surprises me is that there is not gun registration provision in this bill.

If a company's management said things Obama says, I would have substantial doubt about the entity’s ability to continue as a going concern for a reasonable period of time.

That's coming in 6 months for the "stimulus stimulus" bill because throwing money at the problem is NOT going to fix it!

:iagree: Once we "do something" about this credit crisis, we will need another stimulus bill to stem the tide of home forclosures, then one to "put americans back to work", then one to "restore the american dream", then one "for the children", etc, etc...

The only thing that is certain is we will have an unending string of crisis for the next four years. Might as well start looking for that government or union job now. Private enterprise appears to be on the way out the door.

I might have to go work overseas for a while. Or off the books.

How do we know what's in the bill? No one has read it because His Obamaness and Her Pelosiness have decreed the economic situation does not allow time to read the 1100 pages.
