How much have you put in? And please post proof of this. If it is more than I have made in my 5-10 years of employment? I could be a pro ball player? So please post evidence and your guarantee will be worth the paper it is typed on.Keith B wrote:So are you are willing to put your money into the government like I have for the past 35+ years and risk not seeing a penny of it? You say you want Obama, but his vision is just more socialism. You call us soscialists? Get real, you're doing nothing but promoting Socialism and Obama will do nothing but drain us dry. That is the whole problem with socialists, you want to tell us how we should be spending OUR money. I guarantee I have paid more into Social Security over my life in the workforce than you will probably see total in your first 5-10 years of employment. If I had been offered a choice to put that portion of my money somewhere other than into the government sinkhole, I would have done so, managed it myself and still had it plus the gains to retire on.Toorop wrote: Why don't you guys step up and make the decision to not take the loss? Our generation has already taken the loss to pay for your generations mistakes and entitlements. Why should the future generations have to suffer for your mistakes? I am just wondering why your generation just doesn't right it off as a loss and why you guys don't have to make sacrifices like my generation, which is bearing the brunt of the current economic situation. Why didn't you prepare and save money? Why didn't you guys work hard to overthrow the yoke of socialism as we are trying to do now? Why didn't you guys campaign on ending Medicare/Medicaid and Social security in the 70s and 80s? And why do you not have the guts to stand up and say I won't take their blood money and I will pay into it but I won't take it and be the example for us younger generations to follow? Whose fault is it you were in California? Is it mine or anyone else's? I am sorry but just because you choose to be so socialist doesn't mean I have to be. So please don't ask for my money. And you want your money back, well ask the government to put that deposit into your bank account. And tell your parents that they need to put four times as much back into the government coffers so that they will have paid what they stole from us because the average was $4.00 for every $1.00 they put in.
Herman Cain said it best.
As he said, it is your fault your not rich, don't blame anybody else. Blame Yo'self!
You are young person barely out of college who still hasn't even set a career choice. You thought maybe you would apply for the LAPD or Chicago PD. Apparently that didn't pan out, so then you decided you might apply to UNLV and get a criminal justice or hotel management degree (boy, there is a big difference.) Not sure you even understand what's a realistic goal and what is not. Well, let me tell you, until you get a LOT more whiskers and have contributed to society and the government coffers like most of us here who have been in the workforce for 30+ years, don't even think you know how to tell us what we should be doing with our money. Your generation is NOT bearing the brunt of anything. My generation has been doing that for 40 years and is STILL supporting your generation.
So, why don't you open your eyes, take a hard look at the real world and realize that this country is going down the tubes under a socialist leader. We need to get back on our feet, be able to work for OURSELVES and quit feeding those that only want 'Obama Bucks' handed to them. Once you have spent a few years in the real world working, then come back to me and tell me how I should spend my money.
Actually I did apply for Chicago PD but the way Chicago hires takes years. Right now I am working and I make decent money. I live on my own and pay my bills. I also manage to save money. I am not sure about moving to LA because it is a big move and I don't know any souls in LA. I was born and raised in Chicago and now live in Indiana over the border.
As far as UNLV, I decided against it since I found a good job and I am waiting for CPD. Now explain how Obama is a socialist and not a centrist. Why don't you open your eyes and realize that you are stealing from my generation and you won't admit it. I am curious as to why socialism is cool with you? I am a socialist and I ask why you haven't stood up to this form of socialism? Why is social security and medicare/medicaid OK for you but not for me and my generation? Your generation didn't have the foresight to see the problems and created the debt we are in but now we are stuck paying for it. We should be able to benefit from it as well, wouldn't you agree?
