Aside from the pure rubbish of this blarney, and the massive projection of her own victimhood on the other women: It doesn't really matter whether women can use handguns effectively or not, it is their right to have a chance to do so.

I guess I'm really old school, but you know, about 30 years ago, we would've never thought about using "Professor" and "Moron" together. Nowadays, they seem to go hand in hand in a lot of our places of so-called higher learning. Makes you wonder how some people can find their way to work and back.

Yes, some professors are so stupid they wouldn't be able to pour water out of a boot
if the instructions were printed on the heel. :-)

I guess that professor hasn't heard of Katelyn Francis. The girl can outshoot me any day, and I fancy myself a shooter! Not to mention she is only 16!

I was thinking the exact same thing about my granddaughters.

According to the link provided, her bio says that she received her JD from Harvard and that she has MA and PD from Oxford. In the academic world, I'm guessing that she is no slouch. Her bio also talks about one of the causes that supports is revenge porn. I personally find it amazing that she can care about whether unauthorized videos are posted about women and not whether they can help themselves to be physically safe. Rape is only one of the reasons for a woman to want a force multiplier.

It would be interesting to see Breitbart or one of the other non-Liberal leaning media outlets ask for her sources for the studies that she cites since she says that there are many of them. It would be more interesting to see if she has some sort of armed security. Her work likely draws the ire of some so I would be surprised if she doesn't receive at least occasional threats. She may even carry herself which would be the ultimate irony.

This professor sounds like she has been taught all of her life that women are physically weak and must be submissive at all times.

There seems to be an epidemic in academic circles of professors taking stances and making statements about issues they have no personal experience with or understanding of. The media seems to flock to them lending an air of legitimacy to their views that is unwarranted. To compound things, this media behavior leads others to seek their 15 minutes of fame by speaking out in a similar vein, particularly those who seek fame as much as anything else. This behavior is sort of like our out of control federal welfare apparatus -- a self-perpetuating beast. Wouldn't it be refreshing to have media outlets simply ignore the musings of media hounds in academia and elsewhere and find sources with knowledge and experience to expound upon the issues of the day? I know it isn't likely when political power, influence and wealth are part of the equation, but I think it would be refreshing just the same.

They are professors, God like in their splendor, they know things we hoi-polloi could not even imagine, therefore they are right.
