Not that it matters to the people that will vote for him cause they will no matter what but ole "Beto" is an Irish American using a nickname to sound Hispanic for votes. He didn't win the border districts in the primary so maybe his target voters are already on to him.

I looked at the numbers during the primary and am not worried one bit about him beating Cruz. Ted Cruz had more votes x3 than all of the democrats, I mean socialist, put together. I know that voter turn out for primaries is weak but the communist party, I mean democrats, will have to really step it up. I do not see them legitimately turning out that many people to beat Cruz.

As a block, I'm done with the rino party. I will vote for Cruz only because I know most in his party do not like him and that's probably a good thing. I'm not happy about his speech during the convention last year but he seems to not be opposing Trump like the others in his party.

Another bullet dodged :biggrinjester:
I got the same text, but I educated the individual rather than a simple no. LOL It was to tempting and too much fun. :txflag:  :biggrinjester:

But the Republicans need to get a big turn out everywhere.

They don’t diserve it. But we need to turn out none the less.
This x 1000 (though I don't count Cruz in the group of undeserving Republicans).

With a couple of exceptions that prove the rule, the GOP establishment has been nothing but one failure after another. But sitting back and allowing Texas or the country to be taken over by Democrats is simply not an option.
Does anyone else see the irony here? People (rightly) saying that we should vote for Republicans, including Cruz, even if we don't like them all that much, after Cruz refused to fully endorse Trump at the Republican convention.

Getting back to Robert O'Rourke. He is a white man of Irish descent who won the Democratic nomination by tricking Hispanics into thinking he was one of them by using an Hispanic nickname. Eddie Murphy had a movie years back where he did the same thing, except he pretended to be an old white guy. If I ever run for office, I'll be known as Pablo, instead of Paul. Maybe Paulie if I'm talking to an Italian American group at the time. And no, he doesn't have much of a chance.

While I firmly believe that Cruz will beat Beto, my neighborhood already has 3 or 4 Beto signs (the usual suspects). The campaign has already started. We need to have a massive conservative turn-out to totally bury this guy. Remember, we may not fully agree with a particular candidate, but we KNOW which way Beto and his fellow travelers will vote so we have to take the best alternative. I really like the phrase BEAT BETO!

Yes. I encourage everyone to vote for Cruz regardless of any ill feelings they may have for the man. We need to consider the alternatives. DO NOT take Cruz's advice to "vote your conscience". It was bad advice then and it's bad advice now.

My local left wing paper gave a Beto meeting where 100 people showed up the main headline, front page as if there was nothing else going on in the world. Fake news as per usual.

There are no “sure things” in elections. Once the votes are counted then you can start high fiving your bros.

Never implicitly trust anyone from El Paso. It's a hotbed of liberal insanity. I say this because I am from El Paso. It just as bad as Austin except less weird.

Yeah, I hear you. But there simply is no other choice. If Texas turns blue, it's over.

I was, and still am, a huge Cruz fan but I was livid at that stunt he pulled at the convention. I understand he was upset at the things Trump had said and done, and he had every reason to be, but you either choke it down long enough to help us beat back Hillary or you stay home and keep your mouth shut. Anyway, not gonna rehash it again. Cruz HAS to win this race.

I know my perception is somewhat tainted by the fact that I live in Austin, but I can tell you the left is as angry and as fired up as I've ever seen them. They are out for blood and their hatred of Cruz is surpassed only by their hatred for Trump. Actually, they might hate Cruz more. They will be out in full force in November and every one of them will vote for Beto and drag their friends to the polls with them. We MUST respond in kind or you can all but kiss your AR's goodbye, among many other things.

Do not underestimate this Beto character and do not get complacent.
