https://www.full30.com/watch/MDEwNTg1/s ... un-buyback

He made several homemade guns, for more than likely less than $50 (I could probably put several together with scraps I have laying around) and got $300 for them!! Next time there is a Texas buy back I’m definitely doing this.

I’ve seen his videos before, he’s been making his own guns for a while (technically they are firearms but they were pretty crude) so he just sold some of his older ones.

so...
he sold his home made firearms at a gun buy back?

I knew that it was legal to make your own firearm but I thought it was illegal to sell them or even to give them away.

It sound like a funny story but I wouldn't take that risk for $300.

Haven't we look at PMAG-buyback arbitrage? If they're trading taxpayer money for curio flintlocks, then I'm happy to get my money back.

They weren't real. They were made of PVC pipe in the shape of a rifle.

They were very real and were not made of PVC. They are definitely steel, as there are videos of him building as well as firing these.

Illegal to manufacture and sell for profit. Not illegal to sell to further your own collection, already looked into it. ;-)

I really would be doing it more out of amusement.

ETA: I also heard about a guy that called in advance saying he wanted to get rid of 20 +/- “AR15’s” and they apparently agreed to take them. He showed up with 20+/- stripped lower receivers hahahaha. Not sure if they took them or even how true the story was. Stuff like this just cracks me up.

.....
I stand corrected. They just didn't look like anything other than PVC and I guess I wasn't listening close enough.
