Anti gun measures in Texas for 2021

#1

Post by Lynyrd »

I just got this email from the NRA-ILA. I am alarmed and concerned.
Pre-Filing of Gun-Related Legislation Continues in Texas: Here Are the Measures Affecting Your Second Amendment Rights So Far

NRA-ILA reported to you on the record number of anti-gun bills that were introduced on November 9, the first day of pre-filing for the 2021 Regular Session of the Texas Legislature. Opponents of your Second Amendment rights immediately demonstrated how they will attempt to force the Bloomberg/Beto radical gun control agenda on law-abiding Texans.

We are two weeks into pre-filing and there are already nearly 60 firearm-related measures that have been put forth by lawmakers for consideration next year when the legislative session convenes on January 12. Bill introduction will continue through March 12, so this number could easily triple. Below are highlights of pro- and anti-gun bills filed to-date.

NRA-ILA will update this list of pro- and anti-gun bills periodically through the holidays and leading up to session. We will inform you as to when the Texas House and Texas Senate websites are updated to include newly-elected legislators' contact information. There is a handy Who Represents Me? link on the Texas House website for you to find out who your State Representative and State Senator are. We will also notify you if and when any of these bills are scheduled for committee hearings, how hearings will be conducted, and how testimony will be taken from the public once session begins.

If you know of fellow gun owners who do not currently receive legislative alerts from NRA-ILA, encourage them to sign up for those here: https://www.nrailafrontlines.com/join. We will need your help to advance legislation protecting and advancing our rights in the Lone Star State, and to defeat extremist gun control measures!

PRO-SECOND AMENDMENT BILLS PRE-FILED (as of 11/20)

House Bill 26 & House Bill 340 PROTECTING the right to sell and purchase firearms during a state of emergency.

House Bill 110 PROHIBITING state and local enforcement of certain restrictive federal firearms, ammunition and accessory laws enacted after January 2021.

House Bill 299 PERMITLESS CARRY legislation.

House Bill 304 REPEALING certain gun-free zones for License To Carry holders.

House Bill 336 PROHIBITING the recognition and enforcement of red flag gun confiscation orders.

ANTI-GUN MEASURES PRE-FILED (as of 11/20)

House Bill 52 & House Bill 245 BANNING private firearms sales at gun shows.

House Bill 118, House Bill 606 & Senate Bill 163 BANNING private firearms transfers between certain family members and friends, requiring FFLs to process these transactions that would include federal paperwork for government approval at an undetermined fee.

House Bill 127 & House Bill 213 BANNING long gun open carry with limited exceptions.

House Bill 164, House Bill 395, Senate Bill 84 & Senate Bill 110 red flag GUN CONFISCATION legislation requiring firearms surrender without due process.

House Bill 172 & House Bill 241 BANNING the sale or transfer and possession of commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms.

House Bill 178 & House Bill 234 BANNING the sale or transfer and possession of standard capacity magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

House Bill 185 MANDATING firearms to be stored in locked gun cases, safes or cabinets.

House Bill 196 REPEALING key elements of Texas' Castle Doctrine law, including stand your ground, and no-duty-to-retreat.

House Bill 201 REPEALING Texas' Campus Carry law.

House Bill 208 CRIMINALIZING the manufacture of firearms by anyone other than an FFL.

House Bill 218 CREATING a registry for private firearms transactions and limiting the number of such sales which may take place annually.

House Bill 231 RAISING THE MINIMUM AGE for purchase of semi-automatic rifles and shotguns.

House Bill 236 GUTTING the "30.06 and 30.07" signage requirements for businesses, and making it easier for establishments to ban License To Carry holders from their premises.

House Bill 238 REPEALING the state firearms preemption law and allowing local governments to restrict guns as they please.

House Bill 603 ENDING License To Carry reciprocity and recognition with other states.
I urge all of my fellow patriots to work in every way possible to them to fight these measures. As a 7th generation Texan, I never thought this would happen in Texas.

We have been invaded by an evil ideology, and some buying in to that distorted sickness of government control have been elected to the legislature by mindless drones following the lemmings.

In the upcoming runoff between Luther and Springer I intend to vote for Luther, she at least states she'll vote for Constitutional carry, Springer has had 3 opportunities to vote for it and failed to do so! The farther we move the ball to our side, the harder it will be for the leftist to move it their way!

Each session, there is always at least one person backed by Bloomberg organizations who files anti gun legislation. Sometimes there are multiple such elected officials. I doubt they will be successful this session. This does NOT mean we can be complacent and ignore it.

The first step is communicating (civilly please) with your state rep and state senator. Inform them politely, but firmly which legislation you wish to see them support and which you want them to oppose.

The next step is to recruit your friends/family/neighbors to do the same. Educate those who are either uninformed (easier to educate) or misinformed (usually from hollywood or MSM).

I've been passing around a single page (double sided) sheet of paper to candidates/elected officials all year long, trying to remove some of the statutorily off limits locations. It's a proposal for lines to strike from the penal code, with a logical explanation of why this should NOT be a difficult decision. I've shared it with several forum members. If anyone would like a link, just ask.

When/if this bill ever gets a hearing, someone should ask her for her address.

Disgusting.

How would she suggest we defend our lives and families inside the home? I think a measure to ban the police and all other LE agencies from using or even possessing weapons would make as much sense. Security at the capitol? What for? :confused5

That's a very good question. One can only assume those who voted for her either agree with her, or don't know what she stands for.

:iagree:

These are Meza's endorsements ... I guess Everytown and Moms Demand Action are in on this hand and hand.

I'd guess out of state big money bought her a seat, because it wasn't her good looks:
