The Armed Protest at the State Capital is a ruse - do not fall for it

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

The Armed Protest at the State Capital is a ruse - do not fall for it

From TSRA:

You may or may not have heard that there is a nationwide effort to have an armed rally in every capital on a certain day.

This rally effort is not sponsored by any group-not the NRA, not TSRA. Literally, I have seen one such flyer and no group, organization or person has their name on this endeavor.

Do not misunderstand me, it is the lack of sponsorship that worries me. I don't know what their goals are and neither does the FBI who has a warning out about this event.

Please be very careful about these events.

TSRA is not involved nor are we recommending any of our members attend.

I also believe this is a trap by someone for some reason I cannot fathom. I am assuming it has two purposes. One is just to help further the left wing agenda by portraying the right wing as protesters and unable to concede anything. The media will not cover any right wing protest in a good light. And that is assuming that nothing happens, which is what I believe the second part of the trap is. I think there will be activists there trying to stir things up and foment another riot.

My thinking it is a trap began when I read about the FBI warning police departments about the rally planned at every state capitol. I know the FBI has better surveillance techniques than i do, but it seemed suspicious to me that they had heard of it enough to warn the local agencies and I had not heard anything about it anywhere, not even Facebook. Then on of my cousins posted a flyer on it on his Facebook page. Since he is a hard core left wing (as in making Pelosi look like a conservative), if he had a flyer for it and I had not seen one anywhere else, it must be a fake or a trap.

Since those two events occurred, I have not yet seen anyone else promoting this rally/protest. I have seen others like myself saying not to go because it is a trap, and I have received the email from the TSRA telling why they thought we should not go. Their point that it has no sponsoring group listed is also a good indicator of it being a false promotion.

I strongly suggest everyone stay away from it.

This is a trap either way, to further the left's agenda. If a large contingent of armed protesters show up, it will give them fodder for gun control. If no one shows up, it will be because the social media oligarchs, managed to cancel it through censorship, so more censorship is needed.JMHO

This type of action will add fuel to the Democrats' attempt to pass a domestic terrorists bill. People need to remember that they hold the House, Senate and White House. Biden will appoint all ... ALL U.S. Attorneys.

I hope this helps convince people not to go. As a state worker, we get emergency announcements and warnings from DPS about the things happening in the Capitol area. I got this warning at about 4:45 this afternoon:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Based upon new threat information we received over the last 24 hours, we requested the leadership's permission to close the Capitol and Capitol Grounds to the public beginning tomorrow and through January 20. The below press release has been approved and will be sent after you receive this message.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is announcing the closure of the Texas State Capitol out of an abundance of caution Saturday, January 16 – Wednesday, January 20.

“The Texas Department of Public Safety is aware of armed protests planned at the Texas State Capitol this week and violent extremists who may seek to exploit constitutionally protected events to conduct criminal acts,” said DPS Director Steven McCraw. “As a result, DPS has deployed additional personnel and resources to the Capitol and are working closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Austin Police Department to monitor events and enforce the rule of law.”

People are encouraged to immediately report any suspicious activity they see on the internet or in public to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Austin Police Department or DPS at www.iWatchtx.org.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Violent extremists are planning on doing something with this protest. Be careful.

Apparently, they are very worried. That should put a stop to any violence and if it doesn't. Well this is Texas, and we aren't likely to be allowing violent protestors free reign to destroy cities and businesses. I am wondering why they don't arrest the ones planning this violence if they already have enough info to know it is coming. Truth is, it is not likely violence is being planned by law abiding gun owners at this point. Unless they attempt to disarm us all with 2nd amendment violation laws, we won't resort to violence.

Well, my suspicious mind says it is because they want to catch more people. My conspiracy mind says it is because the people planning it work for the government and the ones they want to catch are the average citizens.

Of course, there could be another reason, like they don't have enough evidence to make an arrest, but enough to take precautions.

This is still the USA, you cannot be arrested, for saying you plan armed protests, you cannot even be arrested for saying you plan violence, without naming a target. I can say I plan on kicking someone’s rear end, but if I don’t name the person, and speak only in generalities, I have committed no crime.

I think this whole thing is a farce. First, which social media platform are these threats coming from? Second, who benefits from getting the police on high alert? Third, why would anyone plan a protest, at the State Capitol, on the same day as the inauguration in Washington DC? You can bet that the building will be completely empty, and the only one there to talk about it, will be the left wing media? JMHO

Excellent question. They certainly can't blame Parler for this one. Perhaps someone should look into Twitter/Facebook?
