Two ribs back in 2012. The fall at her office yesterday cracked three on her left side. While I very much hope to see another new SCOTUS justice soon, ya still gotta give it up for tiny RBG for being a pretty tough old bird. From Fox News: "Ginsburg, 85, initially went home after the accident, which occurred in her Supreme Court office. But she later reported experiencing some discomfort, and was admitted to George Washington University Hospital "for observation and treatment."

You know, that seems like a dangerous work environment for someone of her age. Perhaps she should retire....you know, for health reasons. :biggrinjester:

I hope so. I would love to see RBG live to be 110. Retiring and simply enjoying her days would keep her safer and dramatically lower her stress levels. I think she should consider announcing before 2019 her retirement from SCOTUS. We would all support her and thank her for her many years of service.

Rib fractures in the elderly are dangerous. For folks over 65, each consecutive fractured rib gives you a 10% chance of dying. That 10% assumes an average elderly patient, and RBG is on the far end of the healthy side of that spectrum, but the risk is far greater than people commonly realize. It's not the same thing as a 21 year old cowboy suffering a "few cracked ribs" and then toughing it out with some tylenol and Old Milwaukee.

He’s right. The risk of a terminal pneumonia goes way up.

Wait.

What?

There are 21-year-old cowboys who drink Old Milwaukee? ;-)

Can I hold out for two more? May not be likely, but four newly-appointed conservative justices seems like a nice round number.

Back in August, with RBG's 25th SCOTUS anniversary, Business Insider published an estimate of justice retirements, https://www.businessinsider.com/supreme ... ure-2018-6:
  • Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Predicted departure: Two years ago
  • Stephen Breyer. Predicted departure: 2021
  • Clarence Thomas. Predicted departure: 2024
  • Samuel Alito. Predicted departure: 2032
  • Sonia Sotomayor. Predicted departure: 2036
  • John Roberts. Predicted departure: 2034
  • Elena Kagan. Predicted departure: 2039
  • Neil Gorsuch. Predicted departure: 2046
Their list appropriately was minus Kennedy, but was pre-Kavanaugh. Ya gotta like the headline, "Predicted departure: Two years ago." RBG has become an icon and she deserves to retire as such, as in now. Getting at least that third replacement helps offset the scary headline, "Sonia Sotomayor. Predicted departure: 2036."

She is trying to hold out so Trump doesn't get another pick. She is not gonna make it IMHO. She already is senile and wearing diapers. She can't stay awake more than 30 minutes at a time.

21-year-old cowboys drink anything containing more than 3.1% alcohol.

Balance is difficult when drinking. At least that's what I hear. :biggrinjester:

Apparently drinking also affects the ability to stay awake during State of the Union speeches by POTUS.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager
