This is the epitome of why everyone should have a gun in their home, and know how to use it. Bravo to this lady for defending herself. And it seems she is pretty handy with her gun.
When the woman found McLaughlin outside her bedroom door, she shot him once in the head, according to the release. The woman, who was not injured, called police to report she had shot an intruder, and McLaughlin was flown to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Wow even in the New York Times.

"A felon who escaped from a South Carolina prison early Tuesday morning and barged into a woman’s home was fatally shot by the homeowner in what the local sheriff described as a “shining example” of why people should own guns and know how to use them."

At the top of the article not even buried. Way to go NYT.

BG was still in an orange jumpsuit.

I love happy endings...
Gun control is like stopping drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to drive.

Story is a breath of fresh-air on an otherwise gloomy day.

Now a hero!

So did she aim for center body mass of orange jumpsuit and miss and got him in the head. Or is she Ms. dead eye and aimed for the head.

“You see little sister doesn't miss when she aims her gun”

A better story would be hard to beat.
