Police said the victim was carrying an unholstered handgun in the front of his sweatpants, and it fired as he tried to reposition the weapon to keep it from falling, ...
He is expected to be charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm.

No, but if the shot was at the correct angle, then he at least won't be reproducing stupid.

With apologies to Johnny Cash:

I think that was his problem not holster that covered the trigger. Felony/Mexican carry.

The man was shot in the groin and they are going to file charges. That's ridiculous. I could see it if he shot someone else, but I think he has been penalized enough.

Maybe there’s a new category for the Darwin Award.

They don’t kill themselves, but are unable to reproduce, thus removing themselves from the gene pool.

IIRC, isn't this what the athlete <Plaxico Burress? sp?> did in NYC?

He had moved to either NJ or NYC and brought a Glock to a nightclub, Mexican carried, in his sweatpants waistband.

When the gun was slipping down away from his waistband, he tried to snag it, and shot himself.

Correct me if I didn't quite get this recalled correctly.
