TX: Homeowner's gun misfires when confronting burglar

...but the burglar ran off anyway. With several millions in loot. Yes. Millions.

Buzbee, who hosted a Super Bowl party Sunday at his River Oaks mansion, awoke at 6 a.m. Monday and found someone in his home, he said in a Facebook post.

The thief made off with several million dollars’ worth of artwork and jewelry, a Houston police spokesperson said.

Buzbee was armed and attempted to shoot the burglar, he said, but his gun misfired. Buzbee’s two children were home at the time, but nobody was injured.
If he can afford millions in artwork he can afford to replace his current gun with a Glock.

While in gun sales I can’t tell you how many times someone would say,”What is the cheapest gun I can get to defend myself?”

Why on earth would you want to trust your life on “the cheapest”?

He is running for Mayor of Houston. Airwaves are already filled with his commercials.

I think he is a wealthy personal injury attorney, but not sure. He has proposed ending pay for play policies in city government. Which is good.

Current Mayor has been involved with one small scandal about the Houston Film Commission funding a former TV host in Hollywood working on pitching a reality show about herself.

But worse the trash service has deteriorated since Christmas. If you remember he also proposed a tax increase after Harvey and the ground hadn’t dried yet.

Worse they approved a 30 million dollar contract to find people who need help from Harvey a year after it was over. His former law partner got 6 million to handle the leagal work for this group. Really. 30 million to find people in need.

Not much info to go on. His "misfire" could have been the result of not having a round chambered, and not knowing how to fix the problem. Under stress and undertrained, is a bad combination. JMHO

I wonder if he had a "misfire" or if he "fired and missed".

My thought as well. Tony doesn't seem the type to buy a cheap/unreliable firearm.

Yep, life in Houston won't be dull while he's running for mayor (and maybe, just maybe, in office?)
