Prime Minister- gun laws will change.

Shooter had a license to own 5 guns. So some government official signed off on this shooter after an interview.

I’m going to assume the man who fired at the shooter and chased him off, was illegally carrying.

I don’t think you can carry a pistol in NZ legally. Probably only in a locked box taken from your shooting club to another shooting club and only for a competition. Otherwise I think it can only be at your shooting club.
New Zealand PM says man who assisted police, and was arrested, has been released.

The New Zealand mass shooter wrote a fake manifesto that is actually what Internet trolls call “****posting.”

There are several profanities at the link. You will probably not find this analysis anywhere else in its entirety.

Fake or not fake, is not the fire that burned the heart of the victims's families.
I feel that in US, mosques would have either tent a cop security team or armed security volunteers with credentials

Fixed it for you.

Too many nut jobs of all political parties, religions, races and ideologies for houses of worship not to have armed security

The local mosque in my city, has a valid 30-06 and 30-07. Surprisingly, when I was at this Friday's pray. One sign was rooted out and was laying on the ground. I wanted to carry concealed but it is too easy to be spotted out. Deep concealment is recommended.

This need is not unique to mosques.

I agree. All mass crowds in public places need to have some kind of protection.
Back in the days, I avoided crowded malls for safety purposes and the convenience of online shopping. Now since, I do carry, I have to track along the family for their protection and their company. However, I am trying my best to be a Dallas Pistol Club each weekend to shoot steel matches and
Personal Protection matches and Real World gun matches to keep my shooting skills up to snuff.

New Zealand gun laws differentiate between rifles and pistols.

It seemed that all guns were difficult to get, but pistols more so.

Rifles are more deadly generally than pistols.

Dutch mass shooting yesterday was with a pistol, so less lethal more wounded than the New Zealand where few wounded.

Edit: one report said 50 wounded, so few wounded is not correct.

Kewis have few enemies. So little chance of an invasion. Then I remembered the Maoris. I betcha they wished they had semi automatic rifles 150 years ago.
