Yes, you can even use .45 magazines in a pinch if you are careful, just be sure the cartridge doesn't jump ahead of the extractor.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Not wanting to use the magazine. I was wonder if I could use my same holster and mag holster with the pistol and 10mm mags?

The CBOB in 10mm. I would be more apt to carry the commander I think. Here is a picture of it. However I still like the Colt.

Yup my next 10mm will be a commander length 1911, not much available in production other than RIA or DW semi- custom

love the 10mm, be it in a Glock 20, Colt Delta, S&W1006, or S&W610 revolver.
Ran an original series Colt Delta in USPSA Single Stack division (and before that, in Limited 10 division). Never had any issues with my reloaded ammo (180 power factor).
Running the Glock 20 in bowling pin matches with 180gr JHP felt like cheating.

Any of the current 1911 10mm offerings from Colt, Ruger, Remington, Dan Wesson, etc should be more durable than the original Delta. And more affordable.

The Delta Elite has a production date of 06/22/12 so it is the newer ones I am assuming. I just can’t get my eyes off of the Dan Wesson bring it is a Commander length. Same price.

If I am not mistaking the Delta does NOT have the feed ramp attached to the barrel and the DW does. I would think that makes the DW more reliable?????

Been carrying a Delta (Blued/Parkerized version) since 1999. Bought it in 1998. Used it to qualify in March of last year. Got a little sloppy. Only shot 237/250. hadn't shot in way too long. :patriot:

I want to thank everyone for your help. After reading the lost and researching some I just decided on a Dan Wesson 1911 in 9mm. That keeps me from having to buy a different Ammo to feed one gun.

Please post up some pics when it arrives! And if you ever want to get exotic, you can have a 38 Super barrel fit to it and have a beautiful 2 caliber gun. :fire

If I am understanding you correctly I can have a gunsmith a .38 super to this Dan Wesson and have a .38 super that functions and does not destroy my pistol as it is?

Yes, Sir.

The 9mm to 38 super, conversion is just a barrel/bushing, spring and mag swap... as quick as you can remove the slide and switch barrel and spring & reinstall, you can swap calibers. I had to send mine back for a barrel link and had them fit the other barrel while it was there. It runs 100% in either caliber and is a joy to shoot.

I'll run it as a 9mm for my wife/son and then after a 100 or so rounds, a 90 second parts swap and I'm shooting 38 supers! It's that quick & easy. :tiphat:

Beautiful pistol, BTW!!! :fire

I like that. I like 38 super. Did you order your barrel and spring from Dan Wesson. Was it a gun smithing job when it arrived?
