Conroe is a little far for me to drive (~4 hours).

I have never competed in, or even been to, an IDPA match. I'd really like to try it out! I live in Austin, and from what I can tell, they're held every weekend at alternating ranges (northeast of Austin, and southwest).

Anyone here frequent these IDPA matches? Fill me in!

lancermit, so far I've shot one IDPA match at psc and the classifier last weekend in conroe. I was once on the fence about getting into IDPA and boy let me tell you, it sure is a blast! I may be planning a trip to austin to visit the g/f's family that will somehow conveniently coincide with a match in the austin area... I will try to remember to post here to see if anyone will be going. :txflag:

It is Thunder Tactical Shooters. The range is Thunder Gun Range, 17234 FM 1314, just south of Hwy 242.

I wouldn't be surprised. Those Thunder Tactical Shooters are some committed folks! They'll be putting on waders and moving forward with the competition.

I think I look pretty good in a black and white wet suit.

What do you think? :biggrinjester:

Since the overnight lows are supposed to be in the mid 30s, we might need parkas and sled dogs first thing in the morning.
