A Good Police Officer and Dog Story
While we have been on the subject a lot lately about officers shooting dogs, here is a good story. Make sure you watch it to the end.

That was cool. Great story.

Folks are quick to send off threatening, demeaning and lengthy emails to citys, states and other governmental leadership when the see, or even read about an officer doing something wrong (perceived or real)
Please join me if you will in sending a simple note to Officer Nick Sheppard for a job well done.

I think it's funny that his last name is Sheppard. Wonder if his ancestors were from Germany?E.Marquez wrote:Folks are quick to send off threatening, demeaning and lengthy emails to citys, states and other governmental leadership when the see, or even read about an officer doing something wrong (perceived or real)

Re: A Good Police Officer and Dog Story
Really? 90+ views in a little over six hours since being posted wasn't enough for you? Or are you referring to the lack of comments concerning a video that's over three years old, one that many people have likely already seen (it's been viewed over three million times on YouTube alone)?gigag04 wrote:Funny this thread doesn't generate near the attention as the others....good vid sir!
Personally, I liked it when I saw it for the first time three years ago and I still like it, but I wonder if, perhaps, we can find anything similar that's a bit more recent.
Simply no way to please some people.

Re: A Good Police Officer and Dog Story
Other "dog" stories that never make the news are all the times LEO's are called out and have to dispatch an injured dog. For those unfamiliar with that term, it means we have to put the animal down with a gun shot. I know I have had to do it twice and it sucks. Usually with the owner standing there to upset to do anything for the injured dog.gigag04 wrote:Pacifist wrote:Really? 90+ views in a little over six hours since being posted wasn't enough for you? Re: A Good Police Officer and Dog Story
Obviously a good man, if not a dog lover. Wish there were more of them. I'm sure there are thousands of LE-dog encounters where officers go above and beyond out of simple decency or love of dogs. You don't hear about them as often as the bad stories for the same reason you don't see stories that say "the Friendly family returned home safely today and without incident."
