Armed robber steals DPD officer's gun, badge

Post by Keith B »

Another example of why on-body carry is better.

Dang. Wonder if the handgun was in her purse or in a glovebox other type location.

I agree, on body carry is best. I teach my students the Alpha, Bravo and Charlie designations. I order of preference;

Alpha; strong side on the person

Bravo; elsewhere on the person

Charlie; Off body.

embarrassing, no situational awareness.

I don't think you can determine that from the information presented.

I agree, no SA. I think the biggest issue is not carrying on person. It's another confirmation for me, keep it on person.
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

That's from 2013. This was the officers personal vehicle and was basically carjacked at a gas station. Totally different.

A trend needs at least two data points. Maybe it's just coincidence they're both DPD.
