Almost all of the bluing is gone from the receiver block and the stock appears to be refinished and it has been decorated with designs on both sides of the stock and along the top. The designs were done apparently by hammering in brass pins or nails; somebody went to a lot of work unfortunately. The rest of the steel looks okay, I don't think anybody attempted to mess with it and I see no rust pits. The rifling looks very sharp and the bore is clean.
Obviously this isn't an investment grade Model 94, but it shoots well and could be fun at the range or as a ranch gun to keep in the Mule or Gator.
I have a few shells for it and I'll throw in an excellent book by Renneberg, Winchester Model 94. I gave $400 for it which is a fair value, I would love to break even, so price is $400. Would prefer no trades unless I can't sell it here. BTW, I'm in the Kerrville area and prefer to sell to a CHL holder
