My status was finally changed to processing this morning when i checked. I really hope the remainder goes off without a hitch.


3/14/09 - CHL Class completed
03/15/09 - Mailed packet
03/17/09 - Packet received by DPS
05/03/09 - Processing
xx/xx/xx - License Issued/Mailed
xx/xx/xx - Plastic in Hand

I finally received my PIN last Thursday with a letter dated 4/22. Status is Processing Application, but it's one step further.

I just got off the phone with customer support. I was checking on status, because my application was received on March 24. As of tomorrow, I'll be at 7 weeks from receipt, and the status still shows "Packet Mailed to Applicant".

The clerk informed me that they are behind in loading into the system (big surprise there...). Actually, she said they are currently working through applications received the week of March 15. Good news for those of you who fall in that week. For the rest of us, we're a week or more out.

So you're saying I have a chance. (of a Pin this week, then the real wait begins)

"application Incomplete"

Guess what? If you fill out the application form with previous arrest history, residence, etc. by hand and then pay online, you have to WAIT until they send you your packet and send in that application form! They won't take the handwritten form that has the EXACT same info on it!!!

What a farce of a department. I guess my clock is officially reset.

Just talked to customer support. She is saying 6 weeks to issue PIN.

Thursday is week 7 for me, still no PIN.


Edit - 6 weeks is spot on. Just checked the mail and PIN was there. Now the real wait begins.

Yes, I quoted myself! I haven't taken the time out to figure out this site completely, but I wanted to update my time frame. I have been checking the DPS website daily, twice a day for any updated status and today it was updated to "Processing Application"!

Time frame so far is:

Took class Feb 28th '09
Mailed packet March 2nd '09
Received by DPS March 5th '09
Status changed to "Processing" April 9th '09
Status changed to "Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter has been sent." May 5th '09

I called yesterday to check my status and the lady let me know that they sent me a letter yesterday letting me know that my picture is no bueno. I checked the status online today and it says "Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter has been sent."

When I talked to the lady about a week ago she said that they are running right at 60 days, so to all of you that are waiting, that is great news for you! Lets just hope that I can get my picture right this time!!

Sill Processing Application.... I'm thinkin May 10th I should know something.

i wonder..what was wrong with your picture,i'm sure you looked at them before mailing. did they look dark or grainy to you ?

at least i feel like im in the game now.

Processing.... Processing.... Processing.... That is all I ever see.... *sigh*.... I am thinking something should happen in the next week or two... maybe I am getting my hopes up. From what I have read, it seems to matter what county you live in... some are slower than others... I have no idea where my county falls into that mix....

Just got my Pin today 5/6/09. Letter was dated 4/30/09.

Another milestone is complete

Got mine yesterday, Had the same date. Come on JULY!!!

Only 2 times in my life have 2 words meant so much to me. The day my bride said "I Do" and today with "Processing Application"! And on top of that, I found 380 rounds online yesterday at regular prices and in stock.
