I checked today and got my 1st update. Green checkmarks for everything except for the following that are yellow:

Application: Received
Background Check: Under review
Concealed Handgun License: Print pending completion of application review

I had some problems with DPS receiving the online app, so I wanted to check with everyone on here to see if the yellow 'Application: Received' is normal. Is this what it shows for everyone else until everything is processed? Just checking.

Hey ITC_TX, welcome. That's just what it should show. Next step for you is to clear the BG Check which has been running anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks deep ding on what they see. Good luck and keep us updated!

I beg to differ on the upper range of the time for the BG check to complete. I'm too lazy to do the math, but I'd say the average is about 2-3 weeks with some being quicker and some longer. YMMV

Mine was done immediately, i'm guessing it may be because I have my FBI background done frequently for my job. Either way the top line will be yellow.

New to the board. Application mailed 9/16. App received on 9/20 with checkmarks all the way to the bg check. Bg check has been under review for a week at least. Checking like 10-15 times a day. Go rangers!

Hey arch, not sure I've seen much longer than 3 weeks but if you say so. I have seen them as short as 3 days. I too am too lazy to go back and look so I'll stand by the post with a nod to maybe longer than 3 weeks.

Mine took a little over 5 weeks and cool arrow's took about 4. A few others too took a little while too and as I recall there was one guy from July who still may be waiting. Still, that's a LOT faster than it was just a few months ago.

Only checked 3 times on Sunday... Going to quit until tomorrow.. This board helps me talk about it since my wife doesn't care to hear about how many times I have looked!!!

Hey Waco, I know what you're feeling. My BG check was under review for 19 days and it drove me crazy. I just updated to mailed yesterday and realized this morning I don't have to check 8 or 9 times a day anymore. Kind of weird but won't be relieved until I get the plastic...
