Peace of Mind by George Strait is the song I was listening to when I joined. Not only that, I think that song or living that lifestyle would be great minus the serious lack of funds. I joined the Marine Corps at 18 and for 10 years have been on those blacktop roads (or sandy roads in some parts of the world) ever since. Stopped for about 3 yrs to finish a degree. Now back at it again in this oil field boom in South Texas.

LBuehler325: It's pretty deep, but L for my first initial, Buehler for my surname (German origin), and 325 for "THE" Airborne Infantry Regiment.

I like AR 15s. Blitzkrieg 'Lightning war' was pretty interesting strategy. TV show, MASH 4077.

It was a nickname my grandfather gave me when I was about 8 years old. I have no idea why. But it sort of stuck. It really seemed to be fitting in the dojo.

When I was working for a living I was a petroleum geologist. Early in my career I sat on a lot of drilling operations. The roughnecks hung this name on me. When they would see me drive up they would say, "Here comes the rock doctor". The name stuck and I used it as my handle in the CB radio days.

I'm a little late on recognizing this but nice to meet another referee out there. I call football, basketball and baseball. It's a bit of a hobby you could say.
I know there is at least one other football referee here as well.

I thought the Official Small Animal of Texas was the nine-banded armadillo
I get it though.

I am a mother of three, one daughter (who is a nurse) and two sons. Both sons are Eagle Scouts and are in the Army. My oldest has proudly served in Iraq. He is in Army Aviation and graduated #1 in his AIT class (this is the kid who almost didn't graduate high school)! He has found his niche in the Army. Young son is almost finished with EOD (explosive ordinance disposal for the non-military experienced) school. He reminds me a great deal of that crazy EOD sergeant in "The Hurt Locker". We live and breathe the U.S. Army at our house. I can be frequently found telling off whiney new Army parents online, and reminding them that their kid is an adult, in the Army, and it ain't the local play group anymore, and they need to get over themselves and deal with it. I weep for every soldier, airman, sailor and marine whose life is cut short in that stinking sandbox. I attend all local military funerals when possible-me, my posse and my bunch of flags. All military personnel who cross my threshold are "mine", even if I just met them. I've been called "mom" by a whole lot more soldiers than I gave birth to. LOL The recruiters are still after the daughter, but I don't think that is going to happen. HOOOAH! I am an Army Mom!
