 Well...Patiently waiting

:nono: Ok. Impatiently waiting.

:willynilly: Ok, a week into it and its killing me.

Tried to just forget about it, but It's the first time I felt like a kid waiting on Christmas in many years.

Now my wife is teasing me, she says, "oh yeah, you got something from DPS in the mail today, think its your pin number?"

We sent ours off the same day, so today I was home and she wasnt. when she got home I said lookie here girl, I got my pin number...she wouldnt even look at it because she was mad because I said hers didnt come. Although I was lieing, it still felt good to get her back.

We know its WAY to early for even the pin number, but we still race to the mailbox.

Going to try and forget about it again....which is useless

Depends on the counties you have lived in.... I have read Travis county takes awhile longer
I sent mine off on 9/8, still waiting. Got the pin letter, date 9/24. I live in Travis county, and have lived in 5 different states, since 1981. Not counting Texas 3 times in there. I am wondering the same thing. I see RBaker got his in little more than a month. I don't think Travis county ever did that well?

Just entering the Waiting Room

Class date: 11/18
Mailed the packet: 11/20 (about ten minutes ago)

Have had the same address since 1999 and worked at the same place (Johnson Space Center) since 1977, so the background check shouldn't take too long.

Took my course on Oct. 28.
Sent my packet in on Nov. 2.
Got the return receipt on Nov. 6.
Still waiting to get a pin.

I guess that I will see how long it takes since I have lived in the same house and county for five years and worked at the same place for five years.

Taking a seat here in the Waiting Room. :willynilly:

Just mailed my packet off today. Hopefully it won't be delayed too much with the holidays but I am expecting it to take a bit longer. My Mass CHL expired shortly after moving here to TX, so now I'm applying for my TX CHL.

Packet Mailed: 20 Dec 07

travis county acts like they dont want to give out info on anyone for any reason, hence the slowness. :rules:
they do seem to cash the checks pretty fast though.

Hey all,
Just found this site. It is just what the Doctor ordered but nurse Crachette says I have to stay in the waiting room.
Glad to be here.
Today, Friday the 4th, is the end of the 3rd week since Austin received my paperwork.
Anybody know what the average is for proocessing these days?

It's so much better when I don't think about the wait, but when I read other people posts where the have received theirs I get antse. The wait never bothered me for my first one up in Mass......oh well.....it hasn't even been 30 days yet. :waiting:

The next few days are going to be really bad for me. My status just changed today. Don't worry.

My PIN took right at 30 days. It will get there.

On average, what is the average wait time these days?

Registered on DPS Website week of 11/26/07
I took the class on 12/08/07
Mailed my stuff back to DPS on 12/10/07

2 questions:

1. Realistically, approximately when can I expect my plastic to arrive (I've been told that it usually doesn't take the full 60-90 days anymore).
2. What is the DPS link for where you can monitor the application process? I have my PIN #, but I can't find the page where I log in to track it.

Thanks
