Hello,
This is my first post and thought I would throw in my 2 cents. Completed CHL Class April 25th and immediately mailed packet in. May 5th the check cleared the bank (very good about getting that done!!! ) NOTHING until yesterday, July 15th, after calling my state rep for assistance two weeks ago and sending several emails requesting a pin #, I finally got a pin number last night via email and checked status which said application was in process. Checked again today and it said that there was NO APPLICATION ACTIVE!!!! I called again today and they told me that the web site is "having problems." They were able to confirm on the phone (finally, after 80 Days) that I have an active application, all paperwork is in order and they are awaiting background results. They said to check back in a "couple of weeks". I did not anticipate all the delay but it does sound like we are getting close!! Would really like to hear if your story is similar.

Awww man...shucks.

Mine has been stuck on
Packet mailed to applicant> for 88 days. I thought the status change to
Processing Application meant something. I don't know what to do anymore.

Does anyone know if there are any other "status" changes? Like, when they do get the information in the system, will it change to something like
Application Complete? I just want something to look forward to...its all I got at this point. Sad...yes, I know.

Make sure you are putting it in the top Concealed Handgun License section and NOT in the bottom section labeled Concealed Handgun Instructor Certificate

I have checked and doubled checked the info I put in and I still get this message.

See Keith's post right above yours. It's very common to check instructor instead of the right box. Look on the bright side though, at least you
have a pin.

So today I got a letter from DPS it basically said " Gov. Perry's office called to check on your app.

, we've got your app. and we'll expidite it and get it to you as soon as possible, and if I had any questions to call Jan Coffee" with her E-Mail address and phone number. Heck its something!!! Its been about 100 days and I'm grasping at straws!! Maybe it wont be too much longer!!!!

I got that same letter.....My Lisc. was approved yesterday..So they seem to be a little late on the draw...

For 3 months I type in the same dl ss and pin and this is what I get can someone explain

Yeap! I did!

Check to make sure you are not entering in the instructor section. There is a section for instructors and one for general CHL's. I did the same thing and realized the next day I put the info in the wrong section. If I recall correctly the chler's use the top section. Both ask the same info!

I have gotten that message a couple of times. The first time it happened my heart sank, thinking for some reason I had been denied. It happened because I miskeyed the information...operator error. If you key in your info accurately and you still get the same message, it may mean that DPS has inaccurate info for you or that somehow they miskeyed your info. I would call them immediately if you have put your info in correctly and are still getting this message.
