DPS website now shows my app 'processing'. I'm not sure exactly when this happened, though. I'd been expecting their website to list all the phases (app mailed... app received...app processing...), so hadn't been actually *reading* the single status line item on the webpage. Sheesh.

Anyway, my waiting has progressed a bit.

I'm a Feb applicant. I'm on day 90. Contacted State Rep, Email DPS, Answer is " Waiting on Background check to come in, there is nothing else we can do for you" ....I wouldnt be mean by the way, unless you really dont mind waiting forever. Those girls at the DPS are pretty mean themselves and strike me as the type that would do anything to prolong your wait if you give them an atittitude good Luck anyway.

Harris County-Day 90 and Counting
02/07/09 -- CHL Class Taken
02/09/09 -- Packet sent cretified mail w/ money order
02/12/09 -- Packet received by State
03/02/09 -- PIN received
XX/XX/09 -- Application Complete
XX/XX/09 -- Plastic in hand

I don't see why I have to play nice and follow all the rules when the people that work at the CHL license place breaks the law all the time, most people would be fined for this type of behavior but because they are the DPS they get off willy-nilly and I don't see why I should have to pay because they are too cheap to hire people to get these licenses done in a timely manner as prescribed by law.

I'm so far in love with Senator Joan Huffman, sent an e-mail to her office at 6:20 and in less than 12 minutes had a reply from one of her aides saying that they would contact DPS for me <3

Wow that seems like good news. 74 day's in is that from the received date or the pin date?

I just received my pin the other day. If they go 60 day's from my pin date I'm looking at mid July. :blowup

Hi Rigger!

Actually it was 74 days from the date DPS received my application. Only 35 days from receipt of PIN.

I understand some of the other counties are taking a lot longer - I haven't seen anything else here about Jefferson County, but apparently the background checks are going thru pretty quickly.

Hope you get yours in soon!
