It's been a fun ride, gentleman!

OK!........ I have lurked for a while. And have been very patient. But now I have a questions or two. I mailed on 1/22 and a few on here have mailed then or after and have progressed to Background Check. I have not. Which makes me start to want to call because I hate the idea of not knowing if they even have received my packet. But here is my first question:

Do we know if status updates are made only over night (batched) or are they made throughout the day?

I am not positive, but everytime I got an update it was early morning. Also it seems that the switch from "waiting for required materials" to "background under review" happened for me and a lot of others on a Saturday.

I got an update to "Mailed" in the morning too, I checked about 6:20am.

Bg check since jan 29th...

No that was a mistake, I have fixed it.

There is no update to my timeline. Just application recieved.

The Texas DPS will teach you patients! Seriously, they are doing a pretty good job considering the flood of applications they have been getting since Obama declaired war on us.
Do not expect to see a change in your online status until 3 weeks after you mailed the packet. That's been the norm lately.

Update this morning. It does seem as thought they do batch updates near midnight or after. I checked late last night about 11:00 and no change but this morning I was updated to "Background Check Under Review"

I mailed 1/22/13 (23 days)

It even listed each of the items needed and their status. I assume "Proof of special condition" Recieved: is my DD-form-214.

I'm just glad to know they have everything they need.

Got my plastic today. Here is my official timeline:

Jan 2: Applied online
Jan 5: Class completed
Jan 7: Fingerprints
Jan 8: Packet in the mail
Jan 15(ish): Receipt for mailed packet (I don't check the mail everyday, so I'm not sure exactly when this showed up)
Jan 28: Background under review
Feb 6: Manufacturing Pending
Feb 7: Manufacturing
Feb 8: Mailed
Feb 14: Plastic in Hand. Happy Valentines day to me!

That's 37 days mailbox to mailbox.
