I already know what it is. I was involved in an incident early 2012 which if convicted i would have been disqualified. The case was completely dismissed with ZERO circumstances.. flat out dismissed.. no probation or adjudication.. just dismissed.. so i bet this is what is holding me up. They said could take 3-6months to clear it and they usually only take about 90 days.. so here I wait..

and before anyone asks it was dismissed because my lawyer was able to prove self defense (because it was) behind the scenes with the county prosecutors.


anyway thats my story.. kind of personal but there might be others dealing with the same issues.

I put the "@" because it was within a few days of that day.

As I stated before, you can see where I quoted myself, I was flagged due to a prior incident and this was the cause of my background check taking so long.

Just want to put the information out there for others who might be in a similar situation.

I will update as soon as "Manufacturing Pending" is updated.

Been in background check review for 37 days now after 3 weeks waiting for initial input. I called DPS to make sure there were no issues and the lady on the phone told me that "Background checks take at minimum 60 days to complete." Is that really the case or was that a way to get me off the phone? I thought the 60 day window was from when they received the packet, not necessarily when they get the information logged into the computer to initiate the background check.

I'm a little concerned because I know I have a clean background (I am a teacher and had to pass checks for my state certification and current employment).

Mainly, has anyone else heard about the 60 day "minimum" on background checks?

DAY 58 since I mailed my packet and DAY 30 under Back Ground Review..
I had a FBI background check for my HAZMAT on my CDL within the last 2 years, I dont remember taking this long...
Until it comes out of Back Ground review I will be sitting in my yard watching the grass grow...

It will probably go to mailed tomorrow or maybe next day and then you will get it anywhere from 3-5 days depending on where you live. Just know its all downhill from now!

Checked today and it finally changed to everything received and background under review! Mailed everything in last week of February.

Mine just changed to background under review also..I hand delivered my packet to dps feb 26

DPS received my mail in app and packet on 2/28, 41 days and still not in the system yet.

I called DPS and talked to Rebecca and she said there is little chance my application will be completed by the 60 day statute. I still have to wait for DPS to send my letter to go my fingerprints done. So it looks like my total process will take longer than 60 days.

I thought the "60 day statute" clock didn't start until the DPS receives all required materials, including your fingerprints.

Going by what Cotton said the 60 day statute applies to ALL applications, mail in and online. I cannot go get fingerprinted until DPS sends the letter.

ONLY TOOK 31 DAYS for background check to be completed...What a joke!!!
And I'm on DAY 60 since I mailed my packet
Website finally updated today 4/10 saying Manufacturing Pending, Shouldnt take long now, I figure two more weeks until plastic is in my hands

Finally got it! 2 months from paperwork mailed to plastic in hand.
