Nice! Mine was similar time of year but took about a week longer. Still, 3-6 weeks is a reasonable wait for a government agency... Even in the Great state of Texas.

30 days out from mailing, and the status remains the same - Fingerprints and Background Check = under review. Those two items changed to "Under Review" on 2/12/13 - so that's only 10 days.

04-11-13 Status "Under review". 74 days since paid/submitted online, 65 days since packet mailed, 42 days in Background check.
04-11-13 Status on Background Check turned Green (complete) this morning sometime between 10am & 10:45,now Manufacturing Pending.
04-12-13 Status Moved from Manufacturing Pending to "Manufacturing" a little after 6AM today. Next change will be mailed.
04-13-13 Status Moved to "Mailed" sometime after noon today.:
04-18-13 Not in the mail today, maybe tomorrow.

Hopefully the Plastic will be in the mail today 04-19-13. It has taken a long time to process, not sure why other than they are back logged. I was CHL in Texas until I moved to Georgia in 2003. While in Georgia I became Conceal Carry there, in addition to becoming a Foster Parent where the background is extremely thorough not just with the FBI, State and local Law enforcement, but personal interviews with Employer, Friends and Relatives. We moved back to Texas in June of 07, so the 5 year residency would not be in question here either. There is absolutely nothing in my background that could be questioned.


04-19-13 Plastic in hand, finally. 82 days since Paid/Submitted online, 73 days since Packet Mailed, for the record 50 days since they say my Background Check was started.

Awaiting TxDPS to perform/receive results from my background check now.

Hey all, my turn to start the waiting. I completed the online app in January, fingerprints a week later and completed the course this past Saturday (2/23). Sent the packet off this morning. Now I get to wait however long they take, the fun part. Glad I found this forum to help me get through it.

Hey everyone, new to the forum. I recently took my CHL class and did the online application and sent in all my forms and even priority shipped them so they arrived on 2/1/2013. I checked my tracking order to verify that they arrived, however, when I check my status online it still tells me: " License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page.". My question is, is it normal for them to not even show they received my packet when it have been at their office for over 20 days? And when I try to call then I just get hung up on.

The first status change has been taking about three weeks. You are almost there-patience....

Ok thanks for the info, it just worried me because the guy I took it with sent his in two days prior and he shows he is in the background phase. Thanks again.
