Hopefully if not tonight then by tomorrow you will have it. It took 6 days for me from when my status went to mailed to have plastic in hand and I live in the far west part of the state.

Nothing yesterday I really hope today is the big day kinda bumming that so many received there's yesterday with the same mailed date as mine Wish me luck.

Wife says that my permit is sitting at home waiting for me to get out of work. Big thanks for everyone who answered my questions. 55 days mailbox to mailbox.

1/26/13 - CHL class taken
2/13/13 - Submitted Application & paid Fee
3/02/13 - Fingerprints and Passport photo taken
3/04/13 - Mailed packet Certified mail
3/13/13 - USPS Delivery conformation
3/22/13 - Application processed online and awaiting on the receipt of required materials.

I'm curious, since I paid on February 13, would they have started my background check around that time, or do they have to wait until they receive my packet? It was 1 month from when I paid for everything until they received my packet. Just wandering and like most people, WAITING!!!!!!!

I don't pretend to know it all, but I would assume that nothing starts until the entire package is complete and received by DPS. Look around the board and you will see that a timeline similar to mine is pretty typical. Good Luck!

62 days from mailing in my paperwork to receiving it in the mail...

Howdy, new here. Just wanted to post my timeline for y'all.

Completed all the training and fingerprints before this.
DPS received docs with USPS confirmation - 2/20/13
DPS updated the site saying they had them and documents were all good - 3/25
Background check completed and manufacturing pending - 3/26

Background check completed in one day. Clean as a whistle. Apparently they overlooked the fact that I voted Romney.

For the record I'm an Englishman born to American parents abroad. Maybe that put my papers in a different stack.

Mine changed to mailed this morning. Now I can check the mail box like I was checking the DPS site.
