Does that mean, if this passes into law, that the handgun will no longer have to be concealed, as long as it is holstered?jerry_r60 wrote: Thu Apr 15, 2021 10:59 am HB 1407 passed the house - the bill adds a phrase allowing more options to belt or shoulder holster when in a car for a license holder. Permitless Carry will be the first main bill for debate after the 3rd reading bills.
Agreed. Rep Phil King was giving some excellent support to Schaerfer on this bill.KC5AV wrote: Thu Apr 15, 2021 11:35 amLoving this exchange between Reps. Schaefer and King.Flightmare wrote: Thu Apr 15, 2021 10:48 am https://tlchouse.granicus.com/MediaPlay ... 2lCghrPpns'

Schaefer is really doing a great job.
That's how I read it (for a license holder). My understanding is that currently, a license holder can open carry in a car (or outside the car) as long as the handgun is in a belt or shoulder holster. This new phrase adds that for a license holder, it's lawful for the handgun to be visible as long as the handgun is in some type of holster and both the holstered handgun and the license holder are in a car.K.Mooneyham wrote: Thu Apr 15, 2021 11:30 amDoes that mean, if this passes into law, that the handgun will no longer have to be concealed, as long as it is holstered?jerry_r60 wrote: Thu Apr 15, 2021 10:59 am HB 1407 passed the house - the bill adds a phrase allowing more options to belt or shoulder holster when in a car for a license holder. Sherman makes it sound like the bill requires people to carry, which of course it does not. Referring to "the talk" and implying this will cause more black deaths at the hands of police.KC5AV wrote: Thu Apr 15, 2021 11:35 amLoving this exchange between Reps. Agreed. I just wish someone would specifically state that criminals already carry guns without a permit.jerry_r60 wrote: Thu Apr 15, 2021 11:42 amSherman makes it sound like the bill requires people to carry, which of course it does not.KC5AV wrote: Thu Apr 15, 2021 11:35 amLoving this exchange between Reps.
