Good deal, I like the .45 ACP for the same reason! However, with the right load (Winchester Ranger-T or Federal HST), the 9mm will do a day's work, plus it's so much cheaper to practice with.

Yep, Andrew can be a tough rascal to get a hold of, but he really is a good guy. He will also stand behind his work if necessary (no trouble with my rigs though).

You have to call him in the middle of the night to reach him (that's when he's up and about). I spoke with him for the first time this past July, prior to ordering my first holster, but I had to call at 1:30 a.m. to catch him. I remember talkin' guns and gear with him for about two hours that night!

I read on his web site that for short barreled pistols he makes the holster longer, anyone have one of these holsters? I would like to buy one for my Kimber CPD Ultra II, I enjoy this pistol because of its short barrel but if I buy a holster with a 5 inch holster, seems to defeat the purpose of me buying the short barreled pistol for CCW carry. Make sense?

The holster that I have is for an Officers 1911. The holster is about 1/2 inch longer than the barrel and is pinched in. My Commander model will not fit all the way in it and still cover the trigger.

Here are some pics:

5111 thanks for the pics, how does it carry? Comfortable? Do they make them in black? Considering ordering, but I have a huge drawer full of holsters and don't want to add another without making sure this one will work.

I actually like it quite a bit. Yes, they have them in black. I really like way that an IWB holster allows me to wear a shorter shirt (6'3" and T-shirts always shrink) and I like how it holds the gun close to my body.

If you like the EMP but want a .45, check out the springfield micro compact 1911. I have one and like it alot. According to their website, the micro-compact and EMP have the same dimensions for height and length. The width of the emp is probably a bit less, but the micro-compact is not a "wide" pistol to begin with. Even so, it seems like a fair trade for the higher caliber.
