i believe they do .
here's a snipit from their website .

The Model 58 is truly a sized-down 92 in every aspect - but in .380 ACP caliber. A mere 18.7 ounces, the 58 features a 3.25-inch barrel and an impressive 19+1 round capacity, combined with the hammer-forged steel slide and forged ordnance grade alloy frame with three-position frame-mounted ambidextrous safety that allows for a classic SA "cocked-and-locked" mode, as well as functioning as a DA decocking lever.

Not to hijack the thread but the Taurus M58 looks like a lot like the old Browning BDA or the Baretta Couger, both .380's. The M58 is a beautiful gun.

Go to http://www.taurususa.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and click on the "What's New" link. Taurus has just come out with a new "slim" version of the .380 called the 738TCP. It's really nice looking and looks like a .380 version of the .9mm Slim.

The 738TCP is even smaller than the Slim. Closer to P3AT and LCP.

I just got home from the range and am very impressed with the Taurus Slim.
My expectations on the drive to the range were not extremely high. I thought the Slim would have significant recoil and not be very accurate but I was wrong on both accounts.
I put about 125 rounds of 115 grain FMJ through it without any problems. I did thoroughly clean and lube the gun before going to the range as it was shipped with quite a bit of grease and I thought that would affect its performance. It performed flawlessly. I am ready to put another few hundreds rounds through it just to make sure.

The trigger is a bit different than what i am use to and it took a few rounds to figure it out. Basically, in SA mode the trigger travels about 3/4 of an inch but only about the last third of that has any resistance. Once you get to that last little bit you feel the resistance and then the firing pin releases. What I liked about the trigger was you only needed to let the trigger reset last little bit for your 2nd shot. You do not have to let the trigger travel back to its original position. Makes for quick follow up shots.

One suggestion to Taurus for improvement...change the color of the follower in the magazines from yellow to black. The reason being is that when you look to see how many rounds you have in the magazine it is difficult to tell the difference from the color of the brass and the follower and would be easy to think you have one more bullet than you actually do.

Here are couple of pictures. I really like this gun and am now looking for a good IWB holster for carry..

Yes we are, and yes it is! I hung out on many gun forums, but here is where I found my forum home. It's one of the few civil forums around. Makes sense because it's Texas born and bred. :txflag:

I know where Little Elm is! My daughter lives in Lake Dallas, right across the lake from you. You been on the new bridge toll road yet? I haven't.

dano111, I was very happy to read your good range report on the new Taurus Slim. I should pick mine up one day next week. I hope I have the same experience as you did when I take mine to the range. I'm pretty sure I will. Despite some nay sayers, Taurus makes very good guns. I own three of them. ;-)

TabuUS,
Let me know how it goes...I am very excited about this gun, it is much better than I expected.
I would recommend checking the slide before shooting, mine had a lot of grease in there, much more than I expected. I have to think that would affect the slide function pretty quick once the powder residue starts mixing with that...just a hunch...

Dano..

I've been looking for holsters for the 709 and if you like hybrid IWBs go to the kholster.com website. They now make one for the 709..they are like the Crossbreed Supertuck but cheaper and with a lot more adjustment capability...

bobbb, thanks for the input. I will definitely check it out. I also found "the Insider" at http://www.desantisholster.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for $26.00.

thanks again,

that's pretty cool. It's no MTac, but it looks pretty decent, all thing considered.

Does anyone know how to go about getting the 9 round magazine for the Taurus Slim?

I checked the Taurus site and it is not listed.

Let me know..
