Which reminds me, about a month and half ago, the Senate (I think) was considering an appropriation bill that covered the DOI, and the Republicans had added an amendment which would put CHL carry into statute. The Democrats were fighting it of course, but I do not know what the current status is. Anyone else know?

Update. Duh. Memory lapse. I forgot about the other post in this forum about calling to support the bill in the Congress on Apr 12. I did call my rep that day to tell him to support the bill. However, I haven't heard anything since then. Anyone know?

The proposed CFR change is a direct result of legislators promising to change the law if DOI didn't change the Rule.

Hmmm. As I recall the discussion at the time, the change in statutes was in spite of the proposed CFR change, to prevent the CFR from being changed back too easily in a future adminstration... but I may misremember. Maybe tomorrow I will google around on this.
